NEWSFLASH

We are getting discharged today! Docs say my recovery has gone great
and I'm ready to get out of here. We have one more night at the Rotary
House, so it will be relatively easy to get there. The urology guys
will pull the stients today before we leave. They pulled the abdominal
drain today, and should pull one of the leg drains, so I should have
only one tube (the other leg drain) leaving the hospital. Yay. Getting
out of here. The other major thing is learning how to walk again, but
that's getting better each time we go out.

Mark and Sheila.....I am not good at email or blogging (infact this is my first time blogging), but I just read all the blogs since you arrived in Houston. Unbelieveable your courage, strength, humor and love - both of you. So glad things are going so well and hope getting out of hospital means you are coming home to Charleston. Mark, keep walking and building back your strength so you can wrestle that shark that bit you at Folly Beach. Is it OK to add your name to our prayer list at my church, Grace Church downtown?

Mark and Sheila,
We just got back from our vacation and I couldn't even do the laundry until I finished reading your blog!
I don't know how you pull it off but you make what you are going through so easy for the rest of us to take in. I can only tell you that we are praying for you each week during our Mi Sheberach Prayer....I know the language is not familiar to you but it is our firm belief that the place we are sending our prayers to is multilingual (at a minimum Hebrew is a native language). I am looking forward to having you and Sheila over for a great "julia child" inspired dinner when you are up for it.....you both certainly deserve the best! (The movie Julie and Julia really got be hooked on cooking again!) You are not only an inspiration but a wonderful voice for all of us in the KCA contingent!
Hugs and a speedy return to Charleston to both of you from both of us.

I was so glad to read about the remarkable progress that you have made. You have been in my prayers every day. Even though I have not seen you since our good ole Fort Johnson days, I can see that you are a very strong, positive person. I so admire your courage and also your sense of humor!! Keep getting better!!!!

Will you have a new address for this next phase of recuperation?

Thrilled and amazed at the progress. Keep up the great work and as others have said, don't overdo and cause a setback.

Love you both!
